A first-time electric bike rider should ideally have basic cycling skills including balancing, steering and braking. So, if you can ride a non-electric bike, then you can easily ride a VelectriX electric bike.

Based on our experience, we expect our electric bike batteries to last between 4 to 5 years, when used under the correct conditions. This includes regular use, regular charging and not leaving the bike in storage for extended periods of time. Maintaining a fat tyre electric bike is much like regular electric bikes. Regularly check tyre pressure, clean the motor, and keep the battery charged. We also recommend servicing the suspension system and brakes to ensure a smooth, safe ride.

YES! Velectrix electric bikes comply with the laws and regulations of all Australian states and territories. That is our electric bike motors are 250 watts*, the speed to which the motor assists is limited to 25kph, and VelectriX electric bikes are made so they cannot be modified or tampered with.

Our bikes not only comply with the EN15194 standard but each model is independently tested and approved to meet the standards.

*In NSW, the current regulations allow a maximum motor size of 500 watts. The VelectriX SUV+ model is fitted with a 500 watt motor and can be sold in NSW.

NO! As an established brand, we support compliance with the current rules and regulations in Australia. Therefore, VelectriX electric bikes are currently restricted so the motor stops assisting the rider at 25kph and the maximum size of our motors is 250 watts*.

If laws are amended to allow faster speeds and more powerful motors, we will produce products according to those changes.

*The SUV+ 500 is powered by a 500-watt motor and is legal to be ridden in NSW, as their current regulations allow more powerful motors.

An electric bike is legal in Australia if it complies with the European Standard for Power Assisted Pedal Cycles (EN15194) and has a permanent marking on it that shows it complies with this standard.

Specifically, the standard states that:

• At 25kph, the motor must stop assisting the rider.
• The maximum motor size is 250 watts*.
• The speed and/or motor size cannot be modified or tampered with.
• The seat is height adjustable.

*In NSW, the current regulations allow a maximum motor size of 500 watts.

From a rider’s perspective, the same rules that apply to non-electric bikes, apply to electric bikes (based on the electric bike being legal and compliant) including:

• No driver’s license is required
• No registration is required.
• A helmet must be worn.
• Lights & reflectors must be fitted to the electric bike.
• The rider must follow the road rules including obeying traffic signals, stopping at red lights, and giving way to pedestrians.

Yes!  We partner with local dealers to ensure that your new electric bike is fully assembled by a professional and ready to ride on pick-up! They are also very familiar with our products so can help with any questions you may have when you collect your electric bike and look after you when it comes time for servicing.

For ease and convenience, you can simply buy online and have your electric bike delivered free of charge to your local VelectriX dealer. Alternatively, you can visit one of our VelectriX dealers in-person. However, please be mindful that the dealer may only have a limited number of VelectriX electric bike models in stock and on display based on the size and variety of our range.

Click and collect is the quick and simple way to purchase your new VelextriX electric bike.  Simply choose your electric bike on our website, select your closest dealer, and order and pay online. You’ll then get notified once your electric bike has arrived in store and has been professionally assembled by your local VelectriX dealer so you can collect your new electric bike as soon as practical.

Once your order for your new electric bike has been placed and paid for, we aim to dispatch your order from our warehouse within 48 hours. Depending on where your chosen VelectriX dealer is located, delivery will generally take between 2-4 working days*. The dealer will then aim to have your new electric bike(s) assembled, tested and ready to collect within 3 days working days.

*Remote / regional areas may experience a longer delivery time.

Yes, you can absolutely purchase parts and additional accessories for your VelectriX electric bike. The quickest way to get parts is to order from us directly. We can then send them to you directly or to your nominated VelectriX dealer free-of-charge. If you are unsure what part you need, please just call us and we can make sure you get the right part, first time every time.

In most cases, parts for older VelectriX electric bikes are still available! We try to stock parts for all current models and for models 6-7 years old. And if we don’t have the part you need in stock, there is a good chance we can order it for you.

When you purchase a VelectriX electric bike, you are covered by our standard warranty.

Just keep a copy of your original purchase receipt to help streamline the process for everyone involved.

Yes! All bikes need to be serviced regularly to ensure safety and high performance, and this is especially important for electric bikes. Regular servicing by a professional mechanic will help you get the most out of your electric bike on every ride. It will also ensure it has the longest life possible! We recommend a service at least every 12 months, or 1500 kms from your VelectriX dealer.

We offer the best warranty for electric bikes. The bike frame is covered for 5 years, the motor & battery for 2 years, and all other parts for 1 year. Please take a look at our Warranty page.

We understand that electric bike riders have different needs so we offer a wide range of accessories including lights, mudguards, racks, and more!  All we need to know is which VelectriX electric bike model you have to perfectly match you with the right accessory.

The quickest and best way to diagnose and remedy any technical issue is to get your VelectriX electric bike examined by your local dealer. If a matter is deemed a warranty issue, the dealer will reach out to us, so we can supply replacement parts for the dealer to repair for you free of charge.
